Does anyonw know of any good camping sites?

I’m looking for a nice camp site for me and 3 of my friends, we want a place were we can set up a tent, and go on hikes during the day possibly something by a lake, but also a place that won’t be crowded, we want it to be secluded but still safe, we live in southern california but willing to drive anywhere in california, Arizona, or Nevada. Thanks!
