Austin Camping

Can anyone tell me what are the main differences between the Bay Area and Austin, TX?
Born and raised in San Jose, CA. Love is about camping, skiing, beaches, San Francisco and Napa. Husband and I are still young (at least we are young) and like to go dancing occasionally. We own a house and are doing, but we can not seem to get ahead financially. We are considering selling our house, taking equity we do to Round Rock and in cash to buy a house. My husband's salary will increase from about $ 140 a year to about $ 60 a year, but we have no mortgage in Texas. I looking for the pros and cons of Austin / Round Rock. I did some research and know about the obvious drawbacks, such as climate, property taxes are more high, no mountains / hills and is not as diverse as the Bay Area. I'm fine with that, but do not want to be surprised by the differences. Really Comments and suggestions welcome useful! Thank you.
Born and raised in the Bay Area and now live in Austin. The two areas are very similar they are liberal, have a nice environment and have a great high-tech scene. In addition, there are tons of people in the Bay Area here. In fact, There is even a group of officers of transplants here. What I like most about Austin? 1. They are closer to Earth here. It has a lot of positive aspects of the South — nice guy, quiet. 2. It is smaller, and while traffic is a problem, you can still get anywhere quickly. Bay Area Not San Francisco. And the distance from Fremont to San Francisco is the same distance that goes from the ranch land in downtown Austin. 3. It is much cheaper. 4. There is no better music vivo. There is a myth. You get spoiled here when you can see great music with fewer than 100 people in each place – dozens of game every night. 5. It is relatively close New Orleans and Santa Fe, which is a pleasure in itself. What I like most about the Bay Area? 1. Ocean 2. Asian Food 3. Expanding the airport 4. My family
