Best Camping Northern Virginia

I want to go camping on top of a mountain somewhere near Northern Virginia. Any ideas?
Many of the camps or places where it is allowed camping in the parks do not allow camping above a certain elevation, 2000 feet as I was wondering are there campsites or places where camping is allowed at the top or near her? It's definitely time to go camping with all the autumn and I want to go watch the stars. Thank you!
Loft Mountain (Mile 79.5) Skyline Drive This is the largest camp in the park with 219 sites. It is the southernmost camp, located less than 30 minutes drive from the entrance station where the Gap Rock Skyline Drive begins on I-64. It is well insulated from Skyline Drive, located near the summit of Loft Mountain. Unlike other camps in Skyline Drive, Loft Mountain has a limited number shopping and retail sites that have a vision of the surrounding valleys. In the fall, these views are breathtaking. There are two waterfalls that are within walking distance easy. Http: / / members.aol.com / adnascar / camping.html Here's another winner from Grayson Highlands State Park. Is the park entrance – 3698 feet, the Visitors Center – 4953 feet; Little Pinnacle – 5089 feet. http://www.dcr.virginia.gov/parks/graysonh.htm says about the park and camping there. Have fun!
