If you are planning a vacation to Denver, or you're a local looking for something new to see or do, chances are you'd like to find something for free. Good news: you have reached the right place!

Let us start our day off (if today happens to be a Tuesday during the summer months) by fall in the Garden Denver Botanic. That was exciting! Now, let's head downtown to Colorado State Capitol Building. The distinctive dome of the Colorado gold coating. Gold has been replaced several times, using ultra-thin rolls of gold, which requires only 47 ounces of gold to cover the entire dome!

As you explore the building on your own or join a free tour, enjoy the murals, portraits, stained glass wall hanging and presidential portraits. During the legislative session, the activity in the Senate or the House gallery to watch state legislators in action.

For residents of Colorado who have visited in the past and remember hiking and climbing the spiral staircase to the dome to enjoy the sights of the city and the building below, we have some bad news. After 9 / 11, this part of the building was closed to visitors. The good news is that visitors are still able to walk much of the building to enjoy its beauty and fascinating history. As we approached lunchtime, What about browsing the incredible range of books in one of the Tattered Cover bookstore locations? What are you doing a bookstore in an article on freedom to do things in Colorado? Well, my friends do not, the Tattered Cover bookstore is any. What began 30 years ago as a small library, friendly, with an eclectic selection of books has become an incredible place for anyone who enjoys books. Not only will you find an excellent selection books (over half a million in the two places of origin, which consists of more than 150,000 titles), but still you can enjoy the feeling of being in a cozy shop where you feel welcome to snuggle on a couch or sitting in a chair to enjoy reading a book, magazine or newspaper. This is the bookstore that some of the "great booksellers box" I wish I could be.

Although lunch is not free, we suggest a light meal in the cafeteria in the home, or if you are visiting the location of Tattered Cover Cherry Creek, take the elevator to the fourth Story Restaurant & Bar to enjoy a delicious lunch. (For more information: call 303-322-7727).

Are you ready for one more tour? If your day off is a Wednesday or Saturday, and is now around 2:00 PM, head to the historic Brown Palace Hotel. They meet in the lounge area next to the entry of the vessel inside the Hotel Tavern, and enjoy learn a little history about this fascinating Denver 45 to 60 minutes free guided tours. Then: Dinosaur Ridge in Morrison. This site gives new meaning to the term "leave only footprints" when hiking! You'll be amazed by the variety of prehistoric animal tracks, both large and small, are available for viewing along this well preserved site. Stop by the Visitor Center and then take the time to experience the self-guided which includes sixteen interpretative signs that describe the fossil as well as other relevant characteristics of the area. Dinosaur Ridge, just a quick tour of the magnificent Red Rocks Amphitheater and Visitors Center. Rock Opera, Jazz and Reggae, Folk Swing, classical to country, any genre of music have taken place in this spectacular natural amphitheater since early 1900. During the day, or later at night when no concert is scheduled, you can come to explore this beautiful place concert.

When you finish exploring the arena, do not miss the Captivating visitors center, which opened in 2003. The visitor center is hidden under the seat, so I had minimal impact on the appearance of the area. View a 10-minute film describing the history – both natural and musical – of the park. Reminisce like watching concert posters from the past 40 years, see instruments belonging to favorite musicians, or the use of interactive computer terminals that have played here know or remember a special concert. Are you ready for a final stop and a couple of free beers? Guided tour of one of Colorado's best known companies, Coors, and enjoy up to 3 free samples of its variety of beer products (if over 21) or soft drinks if you are younger or prefer something non-alcoholic.
