Camping Cooking Gear

What should I bring on a five week camping trip?

I will be going to Kent England this summer with a university program. We will be staying in one campsite the whole time, and I am responsible for bringing my own tent and sleeping bag. Food is provided so I don’t have to worry about cooking gear. I am mostly concerned with finding things that are durable, and waterproof. Average temperature is a high of 70 during the day, and low of 56 at night.

Thanks!

I would bring the comfiest pad I could find, and an actual pillow. Be sure to bring a lot of netting to hang on top of the tent to store things in. Having a tent with a tarp pitched over the area gives you shade and extra rain protection. I dont know how much time you will be spending in your tent, but they get hot during the day, and shade would be huge. You could also hang mosquito netting from it and have a place sit out at night.

Batteries will be gold during this trip.

Sleeping bags can feel restrictive and clammy, and some nights might be warmer. You might want to consider actual bedding, which you could buy there. Were you to go with a sleeping bag, a 45 degree one would be plenty, not 30 as another answerer suggested.
