Camping Guide Maine
Planning a winter camping trip in Maine, I wonder if there is something you should know that not obvious?
I know winter camping, particularly in the north snow is definitely a different experience than camping at one of the milder seasons. I've been reading survival guides on the subject, but most of them seem to be the refresher course for Boy Scout training. Is there anything I should know about this that is not very high?
If where you going on foot is quite easy, bring snow shoes, snow shoe repair kit and an 8 'tabogon, ten by ten piece of canvas and rope. can also transport a ton of trash with you and not that much work! Place the canvas in the tabogon, pointed to the front and back. tabogon put your things in and wrap as a package and belt to his sleigh! I used one for a winter in the brush once, was a great way to carry my whole camp!
