Best hike camping in Oregon?

I'm trying to plan a hike in the good old fashioned camping trip for some friends and I next summer. I have heard that some places in central Oregon GORGEOUS for such trips. Does anyone know of any rise in camping trips in Central Oregon? Especially involving crystalline lakes?

Bend is a wonderful place to camp. relatively easy backpack 7 miles to Chambers Lakes between the East and South Sister is great; hike in the Gorge Polo Horcones I backpacked there twice during the week and has been the only person camping there. It is extremely quiet.
