This town of Jersey Shore is unique with its charming tree-lined village, Victorian breakfast pensions, a beach with a rustic wooden footbridge, and a wide wood and attractive audience, providing an atmosphere of friendship and of a bygone era.

The city is strong in religious tradition and welcomes visitors seeking to stay in beautiful villas and recreation in the form of quiet summer evenings and relaxing strolls along the boardwalk, not the 21st century business, honky-tonk, noisy attractions in other beach destinations.

The focal point of the activity is the auditorium of 7,000 seats Ocean Grove, housing programs and recreation Christians a variety of popular artists and value of family concerts.

Ocean Grove has maintained its community and religious ties with the Methodist Camp Meeting original soil. It's a dry town, with a ban on alcohol and restricted use of the beach on Sunday until noon. The boardwalk along the beach, has preserved its natural beauty, without commercial distractions or concession stands.

Ocean Grove is introduced in both the National Register of Historic Places and the State of New Jersey Register of Historic Places.

For years, Ocean Grove has been known as God's Square Mile. It is unique, with its community tent on the property's historic Methodist camp meeting of the association and rent. In 1878 there were 506 tents in Ocean Grove. Today day, more than 100 tents remain north of the Great Auditorium. The tents are made of fabric with a striped canvas covered porch, a plain canvas sleeping and sitting area in front. It has a wooden shed behind the store that contains the kitchen, bathroom and dining room. The size of tents, including behind the wooden structure is a little over 300 square feet. You do not have to belong to the church to rent a tent, but if you are interested in renting, there is a long waiting list, up to twenty years.

It is a wonderful place for a weekend getaway, charming Victorian bed and guesthouses to choose from. A plenty of free parking on the street, do not meters.

Things to do
A must see during your visit is the large auditorium. This 7000-seat auditorium for the Pilgrim's Way is a remarkable wooden structure. Almost as big as a football field, which has one of the largest pipe organs in the country. If you are not Christian worship here to go to a show Saturday night or one of the many other concerts throughout the year and the artists featured in the Auditorium.

If you're a history buff, take a tour offered by Historic House Historical Society of Ocean Grove.
Looking to do some shopping or browsing, walking by the tree-lined main street with many small restaurants and shops.

Of course it's the beach. The beach at Ocean Grove is open Memorial Day through Labor Day, Monday – Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 pm, and Sunday from Noon – 5:30 PM. Badges are required and can be purchased at the office of the beach in Ocean Embury and avenues. They have public restrooms, public locker rooms, a public observation deck, and beach umbrellas and chairs can be rented on the beach. During the early morning or evening, take a walk along the boardwalk natural. It's a relaxing walk without commercial distractions or concession stands.
