What is the best camping spot in Northern California – it must be by water!?

We live in the Bay area of San Francisco and is looking water of good camping site within 3-4 hours drive.

Wright Lake in El Dorado National Forest, compared to 50 of the road before coming to Tahoe is a right beautiful surroundings of the lake. Many of the trails, swimming holes, fishing and great relaxing paddling. Across the lake is a spectacular view of the Crystal Mountains near 10000 'peaks are reflected in the lake in the morning and evening.
