USMC: during the 40s in San Diego, Ca..?
I know there was 2 USMC Bases: Camp Elliott (settled in 1940) and the other one that still is a recruit one..
Then, Camp Elliott was closed and Camp Pendletton took its place, am I right??
So, was Camp Elliot the base for 1st Division Marine? Were the Marines all sent to the new base?
I suppose I’m boring you but it’s important for me to know (for a project of mine).

there are several USMC bases in the san diego area, Camp Pendleton, MCRD San Diego, and Mirimar Air Base
