Thinking of moving to Fort Collins, CO. Any Adivce?

My wife and I were both raised in Orange County, CA. We now have 3 small children and are looking for a change of pace/better value society to raise a family. We like outdoor activities with the family, so that is why we are looking at Fort Collins. Our favorite activites are off-road motorcycles, PWC/boats, camping, and going to the park with the kids. Any comments on these activities in this area?

My biggest concern is that we will miss all the options that we have in So Cal (proximity to Vegas, San Diego, world-class beaches, Lake Havasu). Will it be too drastic of a change?

If you have firt hand experience of Orange County and Fort Collins area, I’d especially like to hear your comments. Thanks!

There is an off-road track just south of Fort Collins and lots of other places to ride. For boating, we have Horsetooth Resivour, Carter Lake, and Boyd lake all within 15 miles of Fort Collins. Camping and out-door activities are a major draw for any place in Colo., Fort Collins is just a few miles from the Rocky Mountains. My neighbors moved here from Oakland area 15 years ago and love it here. The Fort Collins area is a great place to raise your kids.
