How do I get an agent?
I live in Surrey, a fairly small town in the outskirts of Vancouver, British Columbia. Its about 5 minutes from the washington border. Anyway, I want to get an agent. I have been the main characters in all my school plays (elementary and high school) and have attended many acting camps. Im hooked. I have auditioned for a few movies and got some characters, and now I want an agent. My old drama director suggested I get one of those agents that you pay them AFTER you get a role in a movie. Is there such thing?
My questions are;
*How do I get an agent?
*Are there types of agents?
*What do I say to the agent? (Ex; I’d like to be an actor, or, I need an agent.. ect.)
*What do I do with my agent?
*What jobs will I most likely get starting out?
Also, If you could supply me with any other information about agents, starting out, and or what to expect, that would be appreciated.

DO NOT go to John Casablanca! They are a scam!!!! Any legit agent will get paid AFTER you get a job. Do not sign with any that ask you for money before, they are a scam!!!!!!
To get an agent: Send a head shot and resume to them. If they like you, they will call you and set up an appointment.
Types of agents: There are some only for commercials, modeling, film, etc. and some do everything or more than one.
What you do: they find you auditions and usually get 10-15% of your pay.
Jobs: You might not get any jobs, you might get a commercial or a part as an extra or a small role.
Other info: do not pay anything upfront!!!! Be prepared for rejection and don’t take it personally. Be able to take direction well.
