Camping With Babies
Camping with little babies how young is too young?
Assuming the weather is nice not tooo hott and not freezing. I wanna plan a trip for next fall ish September/October maybe?? I will have a 20 month old and a 5 month old( yes I am only 5months pregnant now asking but Im so curious) is that too young with too many babies. I really love to camp and do not have babysitters or family to watch them and even if I did I wouldnt leave my babies overnight.
My mom used to camp with us when there were 4 kids + an infant. Of course, my dad kept the rest of us entertained.
The main thing you have to worry about when they are really little is if it gets too cold. I’ve gone camping in late spring when it still gets very cold at night, and the couple’s with infants could not keep the babies warm enough without sleeping with them right next to them… and then they don’t sleep for fear of suffocating them. This is the thing I’d be concerned with the most.
The other thing is how your going to feed them. I know it’s too much information, but camping while breast feeding is actually a lot easier than camping while bottle feeding. You end up spending a lot of time cleaning out bottles and refilling the water jug while bottle feeding… and don’t get me started on the nightmare it was for my wife to camp with an infant while having to pump.
So, those are the two biggest concerns. Make sure you can keep them warm and understand how much work it will be to feed them and you’ll be alright.
