Bend Oregon is one of the best places to retire in the United States. It has everything a retiree could want. San Carlos is only Oregons '2 level trauma center east of the Cascade Mountains and is the only region the Level 3 neonatal intensive care unit. The hospital increased its inpatient bed capacity to 216 in late 2004 to keep pace with population growth central Oregon and is in the midst of expansions in facilities, technology and equipment.

San Carlos and the many other medical facilities in Bend provide the state of health care for retired art. Many of the nations best physicians and surgeons of living in Bend for the lifestyle found in central Oregon.
