to go on a summer trip … for freshwater fishing and camping … I would like some recommendations for the 2 activities, please? We traveled from Ohio and would like to keep it limited to Oxford / Cumberland / York counties … thanks! links to websites much appreciated … links to good websites are much appreciated … I have been there for hours, I think and want to know someone to recommend a place … I need guidance, please!
I live in Portland Maine and could offer some advice …. Sebago Lake State Park is a popular choice … you will not get the desert too am here, however remote, is very busy in the summer, but fun … has great fishing, but it's a big lake and you need to know where to go .. no camping http://www.state.me.us/cgi-bin/doc/parks/find_one_name.pl?park_id=26 Rangeley Lake State Park is too big … one of the best fishing lakes in Maine, but again it is huge, more of a feel from their so Wildern up to the border with Canada in the lakes and mountains of the western region – you'll probably see lots of wildlife such as elk, goat, deer http://www.state.me.us/cgi-bin/doc/parks/find_one_name. pl? park_id = 25 once drove from Cleveland, Ohio, to Baxter State Park in northern Maine .. was like a 12 hour drive but so worth it – tons of moose, mountains, forests remote, etc. .. FYI, the south is more referiing known for its beaches and waters and not for freshwater and wilderneess … check out this page site, may help http://www.campmaine.com/region/region2.php
