With all the pony camps starting – does anyone miss the good ol days?!?

All the pony summer camps are starting off and I find myself looking back with very fond memories of my days being a kid and heading off for the week to them! Got me thinking – how great would it be if there were adult summer camps – basically do what you would at any camp – all the different riding activities – bit of more advanced stable management or whatever and in the evenings a more adult themed night with a babq and a few beers and so on!
Im not sure if these camps actually happen around the world, we dont cater for adults here in Ireland, but I think it would be really good fun if they were to be started!
Anyone agree – wouldnt it be great to have a week of nothing but horses and socialising with your friends?!

I never went to pony camp as a kid, we had our own pony of course but had to do our own thing at home, but don’t get me wrong he had a lot of fun with that pony. As an adult,, Of course I still ride and camp. I have several trips planned this summer, load the horse, head out and camp out under the stars and picket the horse. Sometimes in the mountains, other times just in the forested areas of Northern Ontario, there are many areas set aside for this exact thing to bring your own horse, camp out in your own trailer, ride as long as you want. USA has the best choice in these types of camps, most states have areas like this in their State Parks or Federal Parks, Yes we have some refreshments by the camp fire after a day on the trail. What a life. It is usually a week at a time, that we go, I think that longest “trail ride” I was on lasted for 7 weeks from the time I left home, till I returned. No real route planned just headed out and stopped, rode till we got tired of this place then moved on. I highly recommend it
