where’s a good place to go hiking/ camping within 100 miles of nj?

some good trails, and some climbing would be nice.

It really depends on what part of New Jersey you are in. From Northern, N.J. the Catskills of New York and the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts are within a 100 miles. There are some great trails in both areas.

The appalachian trail runs through New Jersey from PA and continues through NY, CT, MA and VT. Depending on where you are in NJ, your hundred mile radius would get you into any or all of those states.

The Pine Barrens are well known in NJ, alsom i9f you go here you will find a list of trails and parks – including some useful trail reviews for New Jersey:

There is some good climbing at the Delaware Water Gap – the AT passes through and there are other trails, too. If you are near there, that might be your best bet.
