What kind of bait that is used if fishing from the pier in Ocean City, New Jersey?

I'm taking my son camping in Ocean City, New Jersey this weekend and promised that he could catch a little. While we do a lot of freshwater fishing in lakes and streams, we've never tried fishing in the ocean. What would be the best bait to use if fishing on the pier? (I do not think it really matters what kind of fish you catch … while catches something). Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

OK. Any clams, spearing (small fish) or sand worms. Get them in a store Local bait. Furthermore, when the clams to buy, you have to buy a special thread to tie them in fall or cast Wen. We also use a 2-inch hook. Get the sinkers that look like little pyramids. They work well. U Make sure you have a large pole too. Your child will be reelin in some nice fish if you follow the instructions!
