Great camping sites?

Anybody know of a good place to camp for a family to go to? Children 6 to 16. Preferably you want a place where you can hike, fish, swim, etc … (Do not look please). And maybe some of the activities of the family. We could make the traditional camp, such as shops tents or huts. Unit could be anywhere from 6 to 10 hours Southeast of Virginia.

There are four campgrounds in the "Shenandoah National Park. Mathews Arm (22.1 miles) Big Meadows (51.2 miles) Lewis Mountain (mile 57.5) Loft Mountain (79.5 miles)
