Backbone State Park is one of the state parks for the first time in the U.S. and has steep, narrow edges etched Maquoketa River.
It also has a lot wildlife and the best multi-purpose trails for hiking, biking and rappelling.
Cabins can be rented here all year, and it sounds like a great place to get away from it all – we all need a break from the life of hard work.
Beed's Lake State Park has a coastline of great trails and excellent fishing Jogging and hiking. Another point that draws visitors here is the unusual spillway 170 feet long with horizontal layers of limestone suddenly dropped 40 feet
It was built in 1930 and offers all facilities for a perfect picnic.
