Im looking for a nice campground in the Zion National Park in Utah?

We`re traveling to Utah in 2 weeks and would like to do some backcountry camping in a tent. We`re looking for a nice campground which would make a nice base for hiking trips. If anybody could recommend a place in Zion National Park, something without RVs and for tents only.

The only thing I can fin that is anywhere near you description, without RV’s is: Lava Point off Lava Point Rd., this is in the north/central part of the park near Sawmill Spring.

Others would be Zion National Park (South Campground) this might fit your needs better as you’ll be close to all activities. You can’t do much driving in the park and may need to use the shuttles. Also close is the Watchman Campground (435) 772-3256, both parks, same number.

All other parks are RV parks. I would call the above numbers for availability as this is a highly visited area.
